MONASTERY ARTISANS and THEIR CRAFTS

Sister Gertrude

Sister Gertrude has created many wonderful artifacts from stoneware. A number of these pieces can be found around the monastery. If you look far enough you will also find them around the country and the world. They are now collectors items. No longer able to produce these, she gives her time now to creating cards and flower portraits from dried flowers, leaves and "weeds". These may also be purchased at our Monastery Gift Shop.

Sister Melissa Anna
One will often find Sister Melissa Anna in the Art Barn creating gourd pieces - bowls, bird houses, center pieces. Recently, Sister Melissa has developed hand-held clay labyrinths. If one cannot walk the outdoor labyrinth, one is able to use a hand-held labyrinth in one's home and enter into peace and tranquility.

Sister Roberta


When looking for Sister Roberta, one will often find her in the art barn at the pottery wheel or creating her beautiful "peace crosses". Brilliant blue is her trade mark for all of her bowl creations. These are often used for flowers arrangements and as candle holders.
